Indira Gandhi, the Iron Lady of India, Sacrificed Everything for the Nation’s Unity” — Satish Sharma

Jammu: October 31 — A tribute ceremony was organized today at Ward No. 56, Gangyal, under the leadership of State Congress General Secretary Satish Sharma, to mark the death anniversary of former Prime Minister Smt. Indira Gandhi. A large number of Congress workers, senior leaders, and women participated in the program.

Speaking on the occasion, Satish Sharma said that “Indira Gandhi was a true daughter of Mother India — an Iron Lady who dedicated her entire life to the unity, integrity, and pride of the nation.” He added that in the 1971 war, Indira Gandhi gave a befitting reply to Pakistan, proving that India will never bow down before anyone. “Her courage, determination, and leadership reshaped India’s history and strengthened the foundation of a strong and self-reliant nation,” he said.

Sharma further remarked that leaders like Indira Gandhi are born once in a century, and her legacy continues to inspire generations. “At a time when the country once again needs unity and brotherhood, we must follow her ideals and vision for a strong and secular India,” he emphasized.

Among those present were Baldev Singh Wazir, Sumanpreet Singh, Sanjeev Katal, Savarn Kumar, Darshan Lal, Karan Samrat, Satpal, Dinesh Sharma, and Om Prakash, along with a large number of women. All paid floral tributes to Indira Gandhi and pledged to uphold her message of peace, unity, and national integrity.
