J&K Girls Enter Quarterfinals of 17th Junior National Roll-Ball Championship

The Jammu and Kashmir Union Territory girls’ Roll-Ball team stormed into the quarterfinals of the 17th Junior National Roll-Ball Championship 2025 with a dominant 17–2 victory over Pondicherry at the MA Stadium here on Tuesday.

Earlier in the tournament, the J&K girls registered an impressive 4–1 win against Karnataka and played out a draw against Rajasthan, ensuring their place in the knockout stage with a strong overall performance.

In the boys’ category, the J&K team recorded a convincing 4–1 victory over Chandigarh. However, they faced setbacks against Gujarat, losing 4–2, and against RSSA, where they went down 8–2.

The national championship, being held across three venues in Jammu, witnessed 55 matches played in a single day. More than 600 players and officials from various states and Union Territories are participating in the event, highlighting the growing popularity of roll-ball in the country.

The matches showcased emerging talent, intense competition and high-energy performances. A large gathering of sports officials, team managers and enthusiastic spectators added to the vibrant atmosphere of the championship.

With the league stage concluded, the J&K teams will now focus on preparations for the knockout rounds, aiming to bring laurels to the Union Territory in both the girls’ and boys’ categories.
