PARIS, Aug 9, 2024: Celebrated hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh will join star shooter Manu Bhaker as the flag-bearer of the Indian contingent at the closing ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games on Sunday.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA) made the announcement on Friday, expressing their pride in the selection. “The Indian Olympic Association is delighted to confirm that hockey goalkeeper PR Sreejesh will share the honor of flag-bearing with pistol shooter Manu Bhaker at the Closing Ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games,” stated the IOA.
IOA President PT Usha emphasized that Sreejesh was a “both an emotional and popular choice within the IOA leadership.” Sreejesh, who recently retired from the sport following India’s bronze medal win at the Games, has been celebrated for his contributions to Indian hockey.
