Israel Defense Forces Claims Killing of Hezbollah Leader Naim Qassem’s Nephew in Beirut Strike

Beirut: The Israel Defense Forces on Thursday announced that it had killed the nephew of Hezbollah chief Naim Qassem in an overnight airstrike in Beirut.

According to official statements, the individual has been identified as Ali Yusuf Harshi, who was serving as a close aide and personal secretary to Qassem. The Israeli military stated that Harshi played a significant role in managing the office and security affairs of the Hezbollah leadership.

The strike reportedly targeted an area in Beirut as part of Israel’s ongoing military operations against Hezbollah amid escalating regional tensions. Harshi was described as a key associate within the Iran-backed Lebanese group, maintaining close coordination with senior leadership.

The development comes at a time of heightened conflict in the region, with continued Israeli strikes in Lebanon despite a broader ceasefire understanding between the United States and Iran not extending to Hezbollah operations.

There has been no immediate independent confirmation from Hezbollah regarding the claim. The situation remains tense, with fears of further escalation in the Middle East.
