Samba Police Arrest Man with Illegal Revolver

Jammu and Kashmir Police have arrested a man for carrying an illegal revolver in Samba district on Saturday. The suspect, identified as Munna Singh, now faces charges under the Arms Act amid ongoing investigations.

Singh, a resident of Sohal village in Akhnoor, was reportedly en route to Kikri Morh from Data Talab when a police patrol noticed his suspicious behavior near JDA Colony in the Bari Brahmana area.

Upon seeing the police team, Singh attempted to evade capture. However, law enforcement personnel chased him down and successfully detained him. During a thorough personal search, police officials discovered the revolver concealed on his person.

According to the police spokesperson, Singh failed to present any valid license or legal authorization for possessing the firearm, raising serious legal implications. The incident underscores ongoing efforts by the Jammu and Kashmir Police to enforce laws against illegal weapons in the region.

The local police have registered a case at the Bari Brahmana police station under pertinent provisions of the Arms Act. Authorities are questioning Singh to ascertain the source of the weapon and any potential connections to criminal activity.

This incident highlights the continuing challenges of illegal arms in Jammu and Kashmir, with police intensifying operations to curb such activities. The state’s law enforcement remains vigilant, emphasizing public safety and the need for legal compliance regarding firearms.
