In a proactive move to enhance security before Independence Day, Jammu and Kashmir Police, alongside the Border Security Force (BSF), executed a cordon-and-search operation near the International Border in Jammu on Sunday evening.
The operation took place in Aik Nallah, Kool Kalan, and nearby regions under the jurisdiction of Arnia Police Station. Officials confirmed the operation began at approximately 6 PM and lasted for nearly two hours.
Police spokesman stated that security personnel conducted thorough checks on around 15 houses and local shacks, known as ‘kullas’, within the targeted areas. This massive exercise was part of routine security and area domination efforts aimed at curbing any potential disruptions leading up to the national celebrations.
As Independence Day approaches, security measures across Jammu remain stringent. Authorities aim to prevent any adverse events that might threaten local peace. Officials indicated that the situation during the operation was calm, with no incidents reported.
The joint operation reflects the commitment of Indian security forces to maintain peace and order in the region. Increased security vigilance assures residents that their safety is a top priority as the nation prepares to celebrate its Independence Day.
Moreover, BSF troops are continuously conducting area surveillance and suppression operations in border zones to deter any potential infiltration attempts. This coordinated effort between Jammu Police and BSF demonstrates the synergy required to secure the delicate border area effectively.
Authorities encourage community involvement in maintaining security. Locals are urged to report any suspicious activities to relevant officials. Collaborative efforts between the public and security forces are vital for ensuring a peaceful environment.
As celebrations draw near, the vigilance displayed by Jammu and Kashmir Police, along with BSF, inspires confidence among locals. With these combined efforts, officials believe they can ensure a peaceful and secure Independence Day celebration.
