Rajya Sabha Adjourned Amid Opposition Demands for Amit Shah

The Rajya Sabha adjourned until 2 PM on Monday as Opposition Members of Parliament (MPs) insisted on the presence of Home Minister Amit Shah in the House. The demand centered on addressing last month’s police action against students protesting the NEET paper leak.

The Opposition, led by the Congress, vocally expressed their concerns, raising slogans regarding alleged financial irregularities linked to donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. This multi-faceted protest highlighted growing tensions over issues of accountability and governance.

As the session resumed for Question Hour at noon, Power Minister Manohar Lal attempted to address various energy-related queries. However, the Opposition’s discontent overshadowed this effort as they continued their protest, disrupting proceedings and effectively sidelining the scheduled discussions.

The Opposition’s push for Amit Shah’s attendance reflects ongoing frustrations over perceived governmental inaction regarding student welfare and transparency in financial matters. Many MPs argued that silence from the Home Minister only serves to further alienate students and citizens concerned about the state of governance.

Sources within the Opposition emphasize that Shah’s elucidation on the police action against protesting students is crucial. They contend that his absence sends a message of indifference from the government towards student rights and public discourse.

In light of these developments, the adjournment displayed the increasing discontent among various political factions and their outspoken demand for accountability from the central government. Observers caution that without constructive dialogue, such tensions could escalate and challenge the operational harmony within the Parliament.
