In a significant initiative to enhance connectivity, the District Administration Kupwara established three new Common Service Centres (CSCs) in the remote border villages of Block Keran. The Deputy Commissioner of Kupwara inaugurated these centres virtually, marking a leap forward in the delivery of essential services.
The newly inaugurated CSCs are strategically located in the Gram Panchayats of Mundiyan-A, Mundiyan, and Pathroo. These centres will empower local residents by granting them access to vital government schemes, digital services, and welfare programs right at their doorstep.
This development follows a thorough ground-level assessment conducted by a dedicated team tasked with identifying service gaps in the region. With the collaborative support of CSC e-Governance Services India Limited, these centres have commenced operations to serve the local community.
The primary objective of these Common Service Centres is to provide residents with last-mile access to various e-governance services, encompassing essential government services, public utility services, social welfare schemes, financial inclusion initiatives, healthcare, agricultural support, and a range of business-to-consumer (B2C) services. Notably, these centres also play a pivotal role in bridging the digital literacy gap prevalent in far-flung areas.
District officials believe that this initiative aligns with the broader vision of holistic development for border villages. By localizing service delivery, the administration significantly reduces the need for residents to undertake long journeys to access basic services.
Feedback from the local community indicates strong support for the District Administration’s efforts to extend digital services to remote regions. The administration reiterates its commitment to the principle of ‘Governance at the Doorstep’ and pledges to continue enhancing service delivery in the district’s most isolated areas.
